**WINTER WHITE DIVISION (ONLY) RULES**

  1. Rules: These rules are for all teams in the White (competitive) Division only and apply throughout the winter season only.
  2. Structure: This is NOT an optional pick-up soccer league and by joining it your team has committed to fielding a team as scheduled.  Sometimes it is very cold and your team will have to play the late slot (7-9pm), so you must have a backup plan to field a full team.  Suggestion: I have a separate and extensive email distro prepared of substitute players just for this purpose.  No official roster check-in is required by the league so unregistered substitute players are welcomed.
  3. Referee: You will be required to use a sanctioned referee for every game.  The HOME (listed first) team will be responsible for scheduling said referee.  The cost is ~$85-$100 per game depending on the assignor you call.  We will give you the league sanctioned assignors contacts before the start of season.  The cost of the referee is split at 50-50 between the two teams and paid on the field no later than half-time of the game.
  4. Equipment: Each team is responsible for bringing 1 goal net and 2 corner flags/cones to every game in case the field is not equipped with such.  Violations should be reported by to the Division Director.
  5. Uniforms: Teams MUST have matching uniforms (jerseys) of like colors.  They don’t have to have numbers or be official soccer jerseys but the do have to be matching colors.  Covered shin guards will be mandatory for the safety of players.
  6. Schedule (new): You will be responsible to have a team on the field at the scheduled time without notice.  You can still send each other a courtesy notices, but it will not be required, the games are scheduled and both teams are responsible for being there without further notice.
  7. Cancellations (new): Cancellations must be done by copying Divisional Director (me) and both opposing team contacts via email and must arrive no later than 24 hour (36 hours preferred) hours before scheduled kickoff.  A cancellation will count as an unchanged forfeit.
  8. Excessive Cancellations (new): A cancelation will be considered an unchanged forfeit for your team as stated above.  After two (2) forfeits (in the winter season) your team will go on probation status.  After a third forfeit your team will be remove from the schedule.  The information will be passed on to regular season Director for further possible sanction or actions beyond the winter season (Determined by league President, not me).  Cancellation will not have standing implications.
  9. Announced Forfeit (new):  If a forfeit occurs beyond the 24 hours before scheduled kickoff your team will be responsible for a forfeit cost assessed at $50/game paid to the Division Director in the name of the opponent.  The full forfeit cost will be forwarded to the team manager to cover any costs and inconvenience associated with the forfeit. The fee will be mailed immediately following the forfeit or the team will be considered to be in violation and subject to further action.  This forfeit will not have standing implications and will simply be reported as not played.
  10. On Field Forfeit(new): An on field forfeit occurs when a team does not have at least 7 players 20 minutes after the scheduled start of the game. The forfeiting team is responsible for the FULL cost of the referee and must pay the referee on the field.  A win will be awarded to the opponent for standing purposes.
  11. Results Reporting (new): Referees AND team managers will be responsible for reporting results of match to league statistician (TBD).
  12. Standings: Standings will be kept and posted throughout the season.  Team rankings will be reported by percentage of wins not simply points as some teams might play more/less games than others.
  13. Playoffs”(new): The last two weeks of the season will be a “playoff” where the top 4 teams will play each other and a 1st , 2nd and 3rd place finishers are determined.  The rest of the division will play regularly scheduled games those weeks.
  14. Red and Yellows: This is a friendly and gentlemanly league, please control your players.  Red and yellow cards will be reported by referees for the safety of the players and integrity of the league.  If a team accumulates more than 5 red cards in the season it will be subject to disciplinary action, perhaps game suspensions.  If a player is given a yellow card that player must immediately sit out for a 5 minute “cooling off” period (even if the team has to play shorthanded).   A red card indicated that player will sit out the next game and it’s up to manager to enforce this rule or the entire team may be subject to disciplinary action. Violence will not be tolerated by individuals and will be deal with at team level – you are responsible for your team’s actions/behavior.
  15. Substitutes: Either team may substitute on a goal kick.  The team with possession may substitute on throw-ins, if they do then both teams may substitute.  Unlimited substitution is allowed.
  16. Official Game (new): A game is considered official and reported as such if it has reached the end of the first half.  If a game is cancelled (i.e. weather) before the end of the first half in will be reported as incomplete and not effects the standings.
Again these rules are aimed at improving the Division and to maintain team/player interest and keeping league playing fun for all participants. If these rules are not to your liking it is not the intent to ostracize your team, in fact, as mentioned above, we would gladly facilitate transferring your team to our sister division for winter play – no hard feelings.

I look forward to a fun and safe season for all teams.

Cheers,

Erich R. Molina
