| Mark Cook is a State (Grade 5) Referee Emeritus. He has served on the Board
of Directors as a Member at Large for two years, and as Vice President for a short

Mark was appointed the Treasurer of DC/NOVA on a permanent basis.
His new bride, Karen, will be helping with the affairs of the Unit by performing the
duties of Bookkeeper. |
His association with soccer comes from raising three
soccer players of his own (now all in their twenties and thirties). He was first certified with
the USSF in 1983 in Northern California. His military duties gave him the
opportunity to referee in California, Indiana, Germany and the Hampton Roads and Northern
Virginia area. Karen's association with soccer comes from her recent exposure to the
sport through watching games Mark is refereeing. She particularly likes some of the
comments made about "the referee" within earshot. Some things she doesn't
repeat to him, though!!

Mark is also a referee with the National Federation (VHSL), and is also an
Instructor and Assessor for USSF. He is a past referee with the Virginia Intercollegiate
Soccer Officials Association (VISOA).
